This is how I make the game work.
In a Pokemon battle, each move has accuracy and power. If a move has an accuracy of 50, then it has 50% chance of hitting, right? So I roll a 10 sided die and if I roll 1,2,3,4, or 5, the move hits. Say that the Pokemon has an item that increases accuracy, I'll add 20 to the %, so 1,2,3,4,5,6, and 7 hit. After I roll to see if it is a critical. Each Pokemon has a base critical hit ratio (in this RP) of 33%. After I roll for both accuracy and crit, I roll for damage. I roll a d12 and add the moves power to the damage (a move with 60 power adds 6 to the damage).

I'll just start anyway. So Arin, your walkin' down Cianwood City with your Petilil and Bulbasaur. Then, all of a sudden, your knocked to the ground. You look up to find a boy scarcely younger then you. He holds a hand out for you while stammering apologies.
Mcloud, you stand at the edge of the lake, looking as far out as you can to see if you can spot the Red Gyarados that everyone always talks about. You lean a little too far forward and you feel the ground go out from your feet and you plummet into the Lake. After you struggle for a while in the water, you feel the claws of a Feraligatr grab unto your shirt and take you back ashore. As you gasp for air, a girl stands next to you asking if your well. | |
