ROM HACKING

Advantages
-Kanto pre-done (FR/LG ROM)
-All Pokemon in Pokedex up to Hoenn
-Lots and lots of free space in the FRLG ROM's
-Easy to hack and easy to edit
-I can actually understand the coding
-Tile-based movement already done
-GTS, Wifi Battles, and maybe, MAYBE, that carnival place from Pl/HG/SS. Don't count on the last on though.
-Text editing is much simpler
-Playable on a Nintendo Wii system*

Disadvantages
-Certain limits to Sprite sizes
-Original GBASP screen sized
-Limited palette
-Expansions just wouldn't be possible**
-It would honestly take longer, trying to get around all the knotted loopholes Nintendo made
-Emulator needed

ADOBE FLASH (CS4)

Advantages
-Huge data space
-Expansions
-Coding much harder, but better
-Possibly online mode
-Any file type of music can be inserted***

Disadvantages
-Both our coders, FSK and Kiddragon, have pretty much abandoned the game
-Not everyone would be able to play the game (Can't update Flash)
-Tile-based movement much harder to code, proven by FSK
-Did I mention NO ONE HERE UNDERSTANDS IT

Which one should we do? It honestly doesn't make a difference the way I see it.

But it's your guys' choice.

*= Using the NO$GBA app on the Homebrew Channel. Tested, ROM hacks work.
**= Inserting new characters yourself would involve cracking open the ROM and manually putting it in free space. I might have a competition where I choose 5 custom trainers for the game.
***=The ROM has a certain Soundfont you would need to edit within the game.

It would still be using the GBA soundfont. I was talking about .mp3 files and whatnot.

It's better because no matter how hard it is, oh yeah, SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS THE CODING.

Sonos told me if he works out a few (a lot) of kinks in the ROM, we could do this.
